The main objective of this project was to propose an architectural strategy to inform Lifebridge’s migration from Central Point to Drupal. This was accomplished by exploring the following:

  • Lifebridge’s existing platform and content

    • Pain points and inefficient practices

  • Desired future state of Lifebridge’s architecture

    • Improved content model; intuitive groupings to inform content types and taxonomy

    • Consistent look and feel using UX/UI best practices

    • Modern editor experience for internal team

    • Intentional URL structure and alias patterns

DISCOVERY FINDINGS

  • Site lacks architectural hierarchy

    • Breadcrumbs are hard-coded

    • Entire content area is inputted via a single editor field

    • All URLs are prepended with “/main” (e.g. https://www.lifebridgehealth.org/main/heart-and-vascular-care)

  • SEO and accessibility need improvement

  • Poor internal search experience

  • Inconsistent/incomplete design guidelines

    • Customer provided incomplete mockups that lack pixel specificity and mobile layouts

    • Style guide is not finalized; headers and footers vary across the site

    • Site is built using raw HTML and embedded CSS
